Dr. Nouri Abdalla
Founder/ President & CEODr. Nouri Abdalla is a Sudanese Canadian humanitarian and development strategist with over 30 years of leadership in peace building and sustainable development. As a Founder, President & CEO of Sucan Foundation, he drives initiatives that foster resilience, justice, and recovery in war-affected communities across Sudan and the wider African region.
- He worked with the Government of Canada and CIDA during the height of the Darfur crisis to mobilize humanitarian funding and lead conflict resolution workshops, efforts that helped catalyze Canada’s largest humanitarian operation in Sudan during that period.
- A trained veterinarian and graduate of the University of Khartoum and Simon Fraser University (Canada), Dr. Abdalla blends scientific expertise with a deep commitment to social justice. His early career spans veterinary service, academic mentoring, and strategic roles in Canada’s pharmaceutical and telecom sectors.
- At UNIDO, he has led multi-million-dollar GEF-funded projects across Africa’s SADC region, advancing developmental sustainability, capacity-building, and institutional reform.

Dr. Mohamed Norain Bushara
Board Member• Dr. Mohamed N. Bushara is a Sudanese American geoscientist, humanitarian advocate, and nonprofit leader with over 35 years of global experience in reservoir development, geoscience consulting, and community engagement.
• As Founder and President of the Darfur Network for Development (DND), he champions humanitarian aid and peaceful coexistence across Sudan.
• He currently serves as CEO of Frontline Resources LLC, and has held senior roles with Shell, PETRONAS, ZADCO, and ARCO. Dr. Bushara brings technical depth, cross-cultural insight, and grassroots leadership to every initiative he leads.
